2.1 For New Redhat Linux OS Installations

   Make a SuperTrak driver Disk from "redhat62_70/hba.img" or "redhat71/hba.img"
   (see Section 1.2 above).

   1) Start the RedHat OS install by booting with the installation diskette
       or bootable CD ROM.
   2) At the "Welcome to Red Hat Linux ..." installation screen, a 
       "boot:" prompt will appear at the bottom of the screen. 
       Type "expert" (without quotation marks) and then press the
       ENTER key.
   3) At the "Devices" dialog box, insert the SuperTrak driver disk in the 
       floppy drive and select "Ok" or "Yes".

   For RedHat6.2 installations, skip to Step 5.
   For RedHat 7.1 installations, skip to Step 8.
   All other Redhat versions, continue with Step 4.

   4) Press OK when prompted to "Insert your driver disk and press the "OK" 
        to continue" 
   5) When "Devices" dialog box appears again, select "Add Device".
   6) When asked "What kind of device would you like to add?", select 
       "SCSI", and then select "OK".
   7) Press the "P" key and scroll down to "Promise SuperTrak driver ....".
        Select "OK" to continue.
   8) The installation process will now display 
       "Promise SuperTrak driver ..." has been found, select "Done".
   9) Continue with the installation as normal. 

а в инстолляции от Mandrake/ALT нет такой возможности подложить драйвер во время инсталляции :((

так что тут  вопрос к разрабочикам имеет смысл включить такю возможность в режими expert давать подгружать драйверы собранные модулями ядра
